Elsie C. Foesch Meier, 81, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at her home.

Elsie was born September, 11, 1936 in Browntown, Wisconsin, the oldest of seven children of Carl Albert Sr. and Adeline L. Sandley Foesch. She grew up in Monroe, Wisconsin and enjoyed time with her siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and grandparents. After graduating from Monroe High School, she worked at St. Clare Hospital. She became a farmer's wife when she married Melvin H. Meier on November 26, 1960 at the Grace Lutheran Church, Monroe. They farmed the family farm in rural South Wayne. She later moved back to Monroe and worked at Swiss Colony and SK Plastics. She lived in West Allis the past two years. Mrs. Meier was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown and member of the Ladies' Guild and past president. She enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, sewing, reading, and playing Euchre-coached by some of the finest.

Elsie is survived by her son Dean of West Allis, daughter and son-in-law Mary (Joseph) Bastian of Pearl City, IL, grandson Colton Bastian (Lexie Cox), and granddaughter Taylor Bastian, two brothers Carl A. Jr. (Judy) Foesch of Charlotte, NC, James (Trish) Foesch of Rockford, IL, a sister, Gail (Roger) Gille of Monroe, brother and sisters-in-law Glen Meier of Monroe, Carol Foesch of Brodhead, and Virginia Foesch of Monroe, and numerous nephews and nieces and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, father in 1958, mother in 1996, brothers William in 2012, Gregory in 2013, and David in 2015.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Peace Church of Christ in Browntown with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will be in LaDue Cemetery, Wayne Township, Lafayette County, WI.

Visitation will be Friday, March 2nd, from 12:00 noon until time of service at the church. The Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is serving the family.
