BRODHEAD - Edward R. Schneeberger, age 90, formerly of Albany, WI, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Woods Crossing Nursing Home, Brodhead, WI. He was born on July 20, 1924 in Rock County, WI, the son of Fred and Lena (Wuetrich) Schneeberger. He married Sylvia Hanson on August 10, 1951in Belleville, WI. She passed away on June 29, 2011.
Ed's livelihood was farming and while actively farming, his focus was on dairy cattle and raising pigs. After his semi-retirement, he concentrated on raising pigs and steers. Ed had been a member of the Consistory at the Zwingi United Church of Christ, Monticello, WI, the Albany Lions Club, and served on the Green County Board for many years. He enjoyed traveling all over the word, gardening, playing cards and was a skilled wine maker. He loved being with his granddaughters and great-granddaughters.
He is survived by a son, Norman (Carol) Hanson, Delafield, WI; two granddaughters, Kristin (Kenny Rae) McDonald and Jennifer Hanson; two great-granddaughters, Kaylee and Kourtney McDonald; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Schneeberger, Brodhead. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister, Clara (Woodrow) Kurtz; three brothers, Hans (Helen) Schneeberger, William (Gladys) Schneeberger, and Walter Schneeberger.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 201, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Pastor Mary Garner officiating. Burial will be in English Settlement Cemetery, Albany, WI. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established.
