E. Gerald Lamboley, age 97, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 in Washington, D.C.

He was born in Monroe, Wisconsin on January 13, 1915 to Francis E. and Catherine Lamboley.

Gerald received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School and was honored with membership in the Law Review. He then continued his legal education and received the Doctor of Jurisprudence, the highest degree that can be attained from the law school.

Gerald served honorably in World War II as a Master Sergeant in Army Intelligence in California and Utah.

Following military service he was an attorney for the United States Department of Labor. He finished his career as the Chairman of the Federal Employees Compensation Appeals Board. He was the recipient of numerous honors for his years in the Federal Government.

Gerald spent his retirement years traveling extensively both in the United States and abroad. He took full advantage of the educational and cultural opportunities in the Washington. D.C. area. Gerald lived independently up until the last few months of his life.

He died peacefully knowing and accepting that it was his time. He always was and will continue to be an inspiration to his nephews and nieces and their families.

He is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Paul Lamboley of Reno, NV; Patricia Mattis of Falls Church, VA; Francis Lamboley of Hamden, CT; Mary Agnes Lamboley of Washington, D.C.; Harold Lamboley of St. Louis, MO; Susan Quigley of Brookline, MA; Gerald Sazama of Chippewa Falls, WI, Alice McKenzie of Green Valley, AZ; Michael Lamboley of Goleta, CA; Louise Stinchcomb of Cincinnati, OH; Catherine Lamboley of Houston, TX and Ann Lamboley of Madison, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Earl, Harold, and Leland, sister Beatrice Sazama, and niece Ann Goodall.

Private services will he held at a later date. Burial will be in the Lamboley family plot in Monroe, Wisconsin.
