GRATIOT - Dorothy A. Rogers, age 73 of Gratiot, WI, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County. She was born on January 24, 1936 in Fayette Township, WI to Edward and Irene (Fielder) DuVal. She graduated from Darlington High School and then from University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Dorothy taught Head Start in the Lafayette County area for over 30 years. On October 18, 1955, she married Karl "Nick" Rogers at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Truman, WI. Nick and Dorothy farmed on the DuVal family farm for 17 years. She was known for making blankets for her family, for fundraisers, and for the community of Gratiot. She enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her flowers and trips to the botanical gardens. Dorothy also loved to read to the children at the Darlington Public Library. She was a member of the Pecatonica Valley Antique Club.

Survivors include her husband, Nick; her children: Karl (June) Rogers of Orville, Ohio, Stuart Rogers of Juda, Bernadette Habeck of Argyle, Jacky (Mark) Bartosik of Browntown, Heidi Hume of Monroe, Kelly (Jon) Olson of Monroe, Thad Rogers of Fort Myers, and Robyn (Jeff) Schrear of Darlington; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Wauneta (Gary) Lancaster of Darlington, Linda (Ed) Wentz of Cassville, and Jeanette Sjostrom of Apple Valley, MN; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tamara Brown in 2006; a grandson, Justin Schrear in 2006; two brothers: Leroy and Joseph; a sister, Joyce Ubersox; and a son-in-law, Jeff Habeck in 2007.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington with Fr. Randy Budnar officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2009 at STEIL CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 206 E. Harriet Street, Darlington, WI.
