Doris L. Hendrickson, age 90 of Monroe, died Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on September 1, 1924 in Monroe, the daughter of William and Lydia (Fritsch) Miller. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1942. Doris and Robert Hendrickson were married on October 17, 1948 in Monroe. Doris's first job was working for United Telephone Company, she later worked for The Medical center of Monroe and then the Monroe Clinic, until retiring in 1989.

Doris was a member of the Monroe Bible Church, where she sang in the choir for 60 years; she belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary - Zilmer Riley post 84, and the Monroe Arts Center. She also enjoyed church music, big band music, The Glenn Miller orchestra, ballroom dancing with her husband, church history, euchre, board games, volunteering, flowers, and the outdoors. Doris enjoyed spending time and visiting with friends.

She is survived by her son, Daniel (Debra) Hendrickson of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Susan Hendrickson, and brother, William J. Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at The Monroe Bible Church, with Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am Wednesday, until the time of service, at the Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Doris's name to Monroe Bible Church, Monroe Clinic Hospice or The American Legion Auxiliary of Monroe.
