Doreen J. Zeien, age 87, of Madison, died on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Edgerton Care Center in Edgerton. She was born on December 25, 1929, in Weaver, IA; the daughter of Charles and Lucille (Brinkman) Persinger.
Doreen and Donald Zeien were married on September 27, 1947 in Marengo, IL.
Doreen loved gardening and taking care of her flowers, but her biggest joy was taking care of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, John (Linda) Zeien of Deer Lick, MN; William Zeien of Sugar Grove, IL; Randall (Billie) Zeien of Cobb, WI; Larry (Rhonda) Zeien of Geneseo, IL; Tina (Dave) Okada of Cambridge, WI; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Persinger, nieces, nephews and other friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Donald; brothers, Charles and Bill; sister, Fern, and granddaughter, Brenda Zeien and daughter-in-law, Allison Zeien.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., in Monroe, WI, at 10:30 a.m., with Monsignor Larry Bakke celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 18th, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Agrace Hospice.
