Donna J. Fedie, 82, of Mondovi, WI passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Hinkley, MN while on a family outing.
She was born on June 25, 1929 in Eau Claire, WI to Athol and Florence (Higley) Jackson. She was a graduate of Eleva High School. Donna married Gene E. Fedie on May 25,1949 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lima. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Donna and her husband Gene dairy farmed in the Modena area for many years. Donna enjoyed still life painting, sewing, square dancing, playing cards and games with her family and traveling the U.S. with her husband, Gene, in their RV. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Mondovi and its ladies organizations. Donna always saw the good in people and had a positive attitude about life.
She is survived by ten children; Rodney (Nelda) Fedie of Eau Claire, WI, Kathleen (Jerry) Snodgrass of Saginaw, MI, Brian (Theresa) Fedie of Winona, MN, Charles (Beverly) Fedie of Modena, WI, Allen (Christine) Fedie of Modena, WI, Mary Kiese of Winona, MN, Tom (Susan) Fedie of Mondovi, WI, Carol (Roger) Risler of Mondovi, WI , Beth (Gary) Stanton of Mondovi, WI and Ramona (Todd) Jenson of Monroe, WI; 31 grandchildren Mike (Staci) Fedie, Joan (John) Swartz, Holly (Chad) Noe, Frank (Kate) Fedie, John (Jessica) Fedie, Rod (Jen) Fedie Jr, Matt (Bri) Fedie, Stacey Asmus, Tracey (Jim) Frassel, Sara (Brad) Demijohn, Jill Snodgrass, Raeann Kurtzweg, Michael (Katie) Nelton, Andy Fedie, Beth Fedie, Andrea Fedie, Rich (Alicia) Fedie, Angie (Jason) Sie, Allen (Treani) Fedie Jr., Amy Fedie (fiancé, Austin Howard), Aryn (Brandon) Nichols, Lexy Fedie, Melissa Kiese, Eric (Nicole) Kiese, Michelle Kiese, Derek (Amanda) Olson, Tonya Olson, Andy Risler, Danielle Schofield, Tom Jenson and Mark Jenson; 30 great grandchildren; a sister; Alice (Roy) DeVore of Centerville, UT, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; three grandchildren; Paul Fedie, Edward Fedie and Amanda Fedie - Atchinson; her parents; four sisters, Barbara Jackson, Arlene Jackson, Joyce Flasher and Betty Rudy.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday December 15, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Mondovi, WI with Fr. Allen Jakubowski officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mondovi.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kjentvet - Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi. There will be a Scripture Wake at 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held for one hour before the Mass on Thursday at the church.
