Donald V. Larson, 74, Neosho, died Jan. 27, 2013 at his home, following a lengthy illness. Don was born March 19, 1938 in Dodgeville, WI, the son of Luther Elmo and Ingeberg (Steensland) Larson. He served in the Army Reserves and had moved to the area in 1992 from Texas and was a truck driver, having last worked for Frontier Leasing. Don was a member of AA for 19 years. He had a great regard and appreciation for AA and what they had done in his life. As a result, he established the Talkington Foundation in 2006 to help provide a facility for recovery. Within the Talkington Foundation, the Kelly Club was formed and named in honor of his daughter, Kelly, who precedes him in death. Don married Brenda Morton on June 4, 1994 at Joplin and she survives. Also surviving are eight children, Richard Larson and wife, Trish, Shorewood, WI; Liz Larson Steel, Pride Lake, MN; Donald Steven Larson and wife, Julie, Orange, WI; Ann Larson, Manitowoe, WI; Paul Larson and wife, Pam, Neosho; Ken Barnard and wife, Shelby, Discovery Bay, CA; Valorie Marion and husband, Al, Greensboro, NC and Rhonda Oilepo and husband, Philip, San Antonio, TX; three brothers, Gordon Joe Larson and wife, Madonna, Federal Way, WI; Allen Larson and wife, Teresa, Juda, WI and Doug Larson and wife, Nancy, Browntown, WI; two sisters, JoAnn Wild, Monroe, WI and Mary Erickson, Blanchardville, WI and 23 grandchildren. In addition to his daughter, Kelly, who preceded him in death in 2006, he is preceded in death by a brother, Richard 'Dick' Larson, who preceded him in death in 1956 and his parents. Services will be Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Rev. James Schnackenberg will officiate and Dr. Rodney McFarland will speak. Following the services Thursday, the body will be taken for cremation. Honorary pallbearers will be Gayle Luchsinger, Pete Wheelan, Harry Lineberry, Dr. Rodney McFarland, Pete Schlau, Sy Werner, Glenn Brown, Ross Rhoades and Gary Pearman. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho on Wed. from 9 am until 7:30 pm and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 pm Wed. evening at the funeral home.
