DARLINGTON - Donald L. Murray, age 71 of Darlington, WI, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County with his wife by his side. He was born in Darlington, WI on March 16, 1938 to Irvin and Helen (McGowan) Murray. He farmed with his dad prior to serving in the United States Army. He graduated from Darlington High School in 1956. On August 24, 1963, he married Judith Ann Stoll at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington.

Don was a fourth generation farmer on the Murray Homestead established in 1853. He enjoyed growing crops especially his beef cows and calving in the spring. He was also a former sales representative for Fennimore Agri-Systems and Gutwein Seeds. He was a classic car enthusiast and showed his 1956 Fiesta Red Sunliner at local and national events.

He was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, of the Msgr. Doyle Knights of Columbus Council #1080, and the Darlington Bates-O'Brien-Howe-Wiegel American Legion Post #214.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Judith; his son, Bradley (Angela) Murray and their children: Cade, triplets: Alexis, Carter and William all of Darlington; two sisters, Arlene Connolly of Darlington and Shirley (Jerry) Roh of Platteville; a brother, Francis (Mary Lou) Murray of Darlington; his mother-in-law, Lillian Stoll of New Glarus; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Jo Hytry and Kathleen Nims; a brother, Patrick Murray; father-in-law, Harold Stoll; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Connolly.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at HOLY ROSARY CATHOLIC CHURCH with Fr. Randy Budnar officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010 at STEIL CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 206 E. Harriet Street, Darlington, WI, where a parish and Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 3 p.m. Donald's courage and positive attitude during his illness will forever be an inspiration to his family and friends.
