Donald E. "Don" Grawehr, age 50 of Brooklyn, WI died peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. Don was born October 14, 1957 in Monroe, the son of Antone and Alma (Harder) Grawehr.
He graduated from Black Hawk High School in South Wayne in 1975 and attended South West Technical College in Fennimore.
Don worked for Good Year Tire in Madison before attending U.W. Madison where he earned a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1984. He then worked for International Harvester in Valdosta, GA and as a sales manager for Kubota Tractor in California before moving back to Madison in 1989. He continued his employment with Kubota until 1997. Don married DeeAnn Bavery on July 29, 1995.
Don thoroughly enjoyed life and lived every moment to the fullest.
He was an expert water skier, loved to boat on the Madison lakes, and was a huge Badger and Packer fan.
Survivors include his son, Cort T. Grawehr; his loving friend, DeeAnn Bavery, both of Brooklyn; his parents, Antone and Alma Grawehr of Browntown; two brothers, Joseph Grawehr and fiancée Jill Budde, both of Verona, and John Grawehr of Madison; his sister, Deanna (Jim) Vanderheyden of Batavia, IL; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a loyal companion, his dog Caley.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas in 1964.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at St. John's Catholic Church in South Wayne. Father David Wanish will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
