David L. Edwards, age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 7, 2012 at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, Arizona.
He was born March 5, 1935 in Rockford, IL, the son of Paul and Lennice (Farr) Edwards.
David married Margie Mahlkuch on September 5, 1954.
He is survived by his wife Margie. 3 daughters, Brenda (Charles) Larse and Lorna Giannatti and Julia Albright, and son Mark (Renee) Edwards.
Brother Gary and 2 sisters, Janice (John) Curran and Debbie (Larry) Konstent.
He also has 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
David was a traveling man. He worked 20 years in Rockford, Illinois as a Precision Machinist, and he spent time working in a supervisory position on the Original Space Shuttle. Then in Wisconsin at his farm for 4 years. Then moved to Tempe, Arizona and worked at a variety of different jobs. After retirement, he was a member of the Elks Club in Arizona and inducted the first Deaf-Mute person, using sign language.
He then moved to New Mexico and worked part time at a Humane Society and for a Special Needs company. He was in New Mexico for the last 12 years of his life. He made friends where ever he went that stayed with him always. He was very big hearted, friendly and family oriented. He loved hunting and being outdoors and made numerous trips "out west" with his hunting partners.
Other than family, cars and dogs were his primary love.
We will always love him and are very thankful he is with the Lord.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 19th at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 407 E. Center St., South Wayne by the Reverend Danny Perger, and a luncheon will follow the Service.
