Darlene M. Vander Velden, age 69 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Thursday, September 24, 2009 at her home. She was born November 6, 1939 in Butternut, Wisconsin, the daughter of Raymond and Agnes (Meyer) Breitenfeld. She graduated from Butternut High School and attended Superior State College. Darlene and Frank R. Vander Velden were married in 1982. She was employed by Stop & Go Foods of Madison, working in Lake Geneva and Monroe for 38 years. Darlene was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church and the Women of the Moose Chapter #599.
She is survived by her husband, Frank of Monroe, WI; daughters, JoAnne (Mike) Johnson of Machesney Park, IL, and Patty (Patrick) Krieger of Shorewood, WI; grandchildren, David Johnson, Greg Johnson, and Katie Krieger; and brother, Glenn (Diane) Breitenfeld of Franklin, WI. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, James Breitenfeld.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at St. Victor Catholic Church, with Fr. Michael E. Klarer presiding. Private burial at a later date. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is serving the family.
