Dale John Belke, age 66, of Brodhead, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on November 3, 1949 in Monroe, the son of Raymond and Gladys (Barnwell) Belke.
Dale served in the Vietnam War from November 11, 1969 - December 12, 1970 earning two Purple Hearts, three Bronze Stars with V for Valor, and 3 Army Commendation Medals.
He graduated from Whitewater Business College in 1976. He was employed with the State of Wisconsin as a Veteran Employment Representative for 35 years, retiring in 2011.
Dale and Linda Hawkinson were married on June 15, 2013 at Nelson Dewey Sate Park, at Cassville, WI.
Dale was a member of the Chapter 3 WI Vietnam Vets. Dale was also known as "Gator Man", he enjoyed hunting, camping, kayaking and canoeing, loved music and nature.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Belke of Brodhead, son, Greg (Tracy) Hawkinson of Monroe; granddaughter, Alaina M. Hawkinson; brothers, David (Ruth) Belke, Jim (Jean) Belke both of Monroe, and Thomas (Chris Riechers) Belke of Port Charlotte, FL.
He is predeceased by parents, and brother, John S. Belke.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Burial will be at Rose Cemetery in Mauston, WI, at a later date.
Visitation will be Friday, April 29th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
