Dale Eugene O'Berem, 86, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on April 1, 2016 at his home.

A memorial will be held in Monroe at Greenwood Cemetery this summer where he will be laid to rest.

Dale was born in South Bend, Indiana on April 14, 1929. The family moved to Chicago in 1933. He attended Lake View High School and then joined the Navy.

Dale worked as a Switchman and Conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad until he retired in 1991 at which time he enjoyed many years of travel and spending time with family. He was an avid cribbage player and traveled the country attending tournaments. He enjoyed collecting coins and collectable die cast cars. He was also actively involved in the Moose and Elks.

Dale is survived by fiancee Alice Nanna, sister, Shirley (Raymond) Kubly, son, Michael (Nanette) O'Berem, Sisters in-law Judy (TC Collins) Adams, Marjorie (Chip) Warren, daughter in-law Jen, three grandchildren Christopher, Michelle (Michael) Flick and Matt, nephew Ryan Kubly, and two great grandchildren Lauren (Gabe) Mueller, Daken Barber

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Virginia O'Berem, his son Mitchell and great-granddaughter Jenna Barber.
