Daisy Striker of Monroe, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 three days following her 100th birthday. Daisy was born February 23, 1915 in Mount Pleasant Township, the daughter of Herman and Wilma (Schwartzlow) Ringhand. She attended Babler Country School. Daisy married Andrew Striker on March 17, 1934 in Monticello. The couple farmed in Sylvester Township for 43 years before moving into Monroe in Dec. 1975. Daisy volunteered at the Monroe Manor where she enjoyed playing cards with the residents. She loved spending time outdoors which included tending to her vegetable garden and helping on the farm. She attended Union Presbyterian Church and while a resident at St. Clare Friedensheim, Daisy enjoyed the crafts, entertainment and fellowship.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Zee and son-in-law, Ron Purintun of Monroe; a grandson, Roger K. (Lorraine) Zee and their daughter, Lexie, all of Darlington; a brother, Walter (Bernadine) Ringhand of Monroe; a sister, Eva Zweifel of New Glarus; two nieces, Marilyn Kubly-Schmid of Monroe and Rita Vickers of Brodhead; a nephew, Randy (Gloria) Ringhand of Monroe; and other extended family in Fitchburg, McFarland, and Janesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew in 2000; son-in-law, Roger Zee in 2000; and grandson, Mark Zee in 2004.

A visitation for Daisy will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. Private funeral services will be held with Rev. Marilyn Sandin-Ross officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Daisy's name to the St. Clare Friedensheim Activity Fund.
