Cynthia J. Spooner, age 40 of Brodhead, died on Saturday, March 5, 2011 as the result of a motor vehicle accident. She was born on January 29, 1971 in Monroe, the daughter of Curtis and Bonita (Beckwith) Steindorf. She was a graduate of Albany High School and of M.A.T.C., Madison, in Veterinary Technology. Cynthia and Douglas Spooner were married on June 1, 1991. Most recently she was the head veterinary tech at the Bellwood Animal Hospital in Rockford, IL. She was a member of the Hilltop Community Church in Albany.

She is survived by her children, Kaitlin, Cody and, Clay Spooner of Brodhead; granddaughter, Braelynn Spooner; parents, Irvin and Bonita Klapper of Albany, Curtis and Mary Steindorf of Fitchburg; maternal grandfather, Leland Brewer of Brodhead, paternal grandfather, Rolland Steindorf of Oregon; sisters, Terri Husen of Janesville, Lisa (Richard) Steindorf-Cleary of Brooklyn, Lynne Hauri of Albany and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Virginia (Root) Brewer and paternal grandmother, Marvel Smith-Steindorf.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Dr., and 18th Ave., Monroe. Co-Officiating will be Pastor Doug Workman and Pastor Paul Gregersen. Following services a luncheon will be held at the Albany Lion's Club. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for her children at the Bank of Brodhead.
