The Monroe Fire Department's capital budget, if approved by the Common Council, is $957,500 for 2010. This amount includes money for a new fire station if the council approves bonding to fund the station in the future. The entire amount is not only for a possible fire station. Also, the adjustment to the Fire Department's pension system will save the city $15,500 in the 2010 budget.
