The story, "Board: No increase in room tax," in the Thursday, July 16, edition, incorrectly reported that tourism board member Jim Glessner added the tax increase to the meeting's agenda. He did not. As was reported in the story, Glessner did not favor the proposed increase in the city's tax on hotel and motel room stays. The proposal was rejected by the City of Monroe Visitor and Promotions Board. The Times regrets the error.
