MONROE - A Monroe man was arrested Saturday for carrying a concealed weapon following a dispute.Monroe police were dispatched to investigate a dispute between two individuals at about 3:55 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of 8th Street.Cody W. Johnson, 20, was arrested for disorderly conduct, carrying a concealed weapon, and physical abuse of a child. He appeared in court Monday for an initial appearance. Johnson was charged with battery, a class A misdemeanor; carrying a concealed weapon, a class A misdemeanor; and two counts of bail jumping, both are class A misdemeanors.Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley said that the alleged victim, who is 17, asked Johnson to turn down some music when he was struck by Johnson.
