MONROE - A Monroe man was arrested Saturday for carrying a concealed weapon following a dispute.
Monroe police were dispatched to investigate a dispute between two individuals at about 3:55 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of 8th Street.
Cody W. Johnson, 20, was arrested for disorderly conduct, carrying a concealed weapon, and physical abuse of a child. He appeared in court Monday for an initial appearance.
Johnson was charged with battery, a class A misdemeanor; carrying a concealed weapon, a class A misdemeanor; and two counts of bail jumping, both are class A misdemeanors.
Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley said that the alleged victim, who is 17, asked Johnson to turn down some music when he was struck by Johnson. After arresting Johnson, they found he had brass knuckles in his pocket.
A $1,500 signature bond and conditions, including not possessing any dangerous weapons, were set. A status conference was set for 10:30 a.m. Oct. 3.
