Connie L. Sauer, age 67 of Monroe, died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on June 3, 1946 in Dodgeville, WI, the daughter of Lewis and June (Griffiths) Sauer. Connie graduated from Darlington High School in 1965 and the Professional Business Institute in Minneapolis, MN in 1966. She was a Medical Laboratory Technician for Monroe Clinic for 47 years. Connie also was co-owner with Judy Lehnherr of Craft Craze for several years in Monroe. She enjoyed bowling, doing crafts, and going to the Kentucky Derby, which she did for more than 25 years. Her favorite color was purple, she was a wonderful cook, and loved sharing recipes. Connie loved kids, and was a proud Godmother to 20 children.

She is survived by her brothers: Vernon (Jean) Sauer and William Sauer Jr., both of Hollandale; 2 brother-in-laws: Richard Vinger of Argyle and Dennis Hale of Janesville; an aunt/godmother, Theresa Olstad of Roscholt, WI; a cousin/sister, Susan (Donald) Tuescher of Darlington; several nephews, nieces, other relatives and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters: Judy Vinger and Mary Theresa Hale.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral Home. Memorials may be given in Connie's name to the Monroe Clinic Hospice.
