Conference set for man accused of sex assault

MONROE - A Feb. 23 district attorney conference was scheduled Tuesday for a Brodhead man charged with sexual assault.

Jeremy Posey, 28, is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, each a class C felony; one count of third-degree sexual assault, a class G felony; false imprisonment and strangulation, both class H felonies; two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, each a class A misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.

He faces more than 1000 years in prison and up to $266,000 in fines, if convicted.

Court records indicate he had sexual intercourse with a woman without her permission Oct. 6 at a Brodhead residence. He also put his arm around her neck and prevented her from leaving.

He is accused of inappropriately touching a second woman Oct. 8 at a Brodhead residence.

He remains free on a $9,000 signature bond and a $1,000 cash bond.
