Clifford M. Zee age 83 of Darlington, WI, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, WI. He was born January 27, 1927, in Monroe, WI, the son of Forrest and Marvel (Smith) Zee. Clifford graduated from Sylvan School. He was united in marriage to E. Jeanette Lewis on November 10, 1951 at First Methodist Church in Monroe. Clifford farmed in the State Line area moving to Darlington in 1975, where he owned and farmed Zeeland Farm until his retirement in 1995.
Clifford is survived by his wife: E. Jeanette at home; four children: Debra (John) Spangler of Monroe, Donna J. Zee of Belmont, WI, Jim (fiancé Kellie Dorsett) Zee of Machesney Park, IL, and Dennis (Tammy) Zee of La Crescent, MN; seven grandchildren: Colleen Spangler of Marion, IA, Austin Spangler of Monroe, Tyler Zee of Chicago, IL, Derek Zee of Beloit, WI, Schuyler Arnold of Machesney Park, Alexis Dorsett of Machesney Park, and Olivia Zee of La Crescent; one great-grandson: Ryan Squires of Marion, IA; one brother: Kenneth (Sharon) Zee of Darlington; and two sisters: Emma Jean (Herbert) Nelson of New Glarus, WI, and Elaine (Ross) Lancaster of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Lucille Lunda; and one brother: Roger Zee.
Clifford was a member of AMPI and Pecatonica Valley Antique Club. He enjoyed wood working, collecting John Deere tractors, and fishing. Clifford will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010, at Erickson Funeral Home, 508 Park Place in Darlington with Rev. Thomas Miller of Zion United Methodist Church in Juda officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in rural Argyle, WI. A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington.
