GREEN COUNTY

• Kristopher William Genskay, 38, Albany, was charged in August with a Class G felony count of intimidation of a victim, a Class H felony count of threats to accuse someone of a crime, and misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property, bail jumping, contact after a domestic abuse arrest and disorderly conduct. Genskey was charged after an incident on June 26 in the 1300 block of West 2nd Avenue in Brodhead, when he reportedly seized a woman, pushed her to the ground and choked her. After the incident, the victim said Genskay threatened to tell police she was doing drugs if the victim reported the assault. Genskay signed a $2,500 signature bond on Aug. 14 with conditions that he not consume any intoxicants or have any contact with the victim. His maximum possible sentence is eight years in prison.

• Chad A. Fortney Sr., 42, Sun Prairie, was charged with a Class H felony count of bail jumping after he failed to appear in court for a child support case on July 13. A warrant was filed for his arrest on Aug. 15. His maximum possible sentence is three years in prison.

• Matthew David Gilbertson, 34, was charged in August with two Class H felony counts of sex registry violations, four Class H felony counts of bail jumping and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and bail jumping. Gilbertson, who was convicted in 2009 of aggravated sexual abuse in Stephenson County, Illinois, failed to notify the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry of an address change in June. Gilbertson's maximum possible sentence is 18 years in prison.

• Brandon Lee Lohaus, 42, Monroe, was charged in August with a Class I felony count of possession of methamphetamine, five Class H felony counts of bail jumping and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Lohaus was charged after an incident on Aug. 10 when a police officer stopped his vehicle at the intersection of 25th Street and 12th Avenue in Monroe for a faulty brake light. When the officer addressed Lohaus, they discovered syringes with a clear liquid substance later discovered to be methamphetamine. This violated Lohaus' bond from a previous narcotics charge. Lohaus signed a $2,000 cash bond with conditions that he possess no controlled substances or syringes and not use any internet-capable device. His maximum possible sentence is 16.5 years in prison.

• Neil Patrick Husom, 26, Dodgeville, was charged in August with a Class I felony count of issuing worthless checks and a misdemeanor count of issuing worthless checks after he was found to have bought $5,400 of goods from Farm and Fleet in Monroe with bad checks and an additional $800 of goods from Fuzzy's Audio and Video. Husom faces a maximum possible sentence of 1.5 years in prison.

• Makayla Rose Mashaw, 18, and Hanna I. Al-Taaey, 17, both of Monroe, were charged in August with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. The duo was charged after a vehicle was reported with a gun pointing out of a window in the 2500 block of 12th Street in Monroe. When police responded, they found that the gun was an air pistol but found marijuana and marijuana-packaging paraphernalia in the duo's possession. Both signed $2,500 signature bonds on Aug. 28. Their maximum possible sentences are 1.5 years in prison.

• Clayton Stewart Welte, 21, Janesville, was charged in August with eight Class H felony counts of bail jumping and misdemeanor counts of battery, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct. Welte was charged after he reportedly hit a woman at Crazy Horse Campground in Brodhead. Police found Welte significantly intoxicated and lying on the ground outside the campground. Witnesses said Welte had staggered through the campground while intoxicated and had punched a woman who attempted to help him. Welte signed a $5,000 bond with conditions that he possess no controlled substances. His maximum possible sentence is 24 years in prison.

• Marie L. Carpenter, 29, Warren, Illinois, and Steven Tyler Wiegel, 27, Montello, were charged in August with Class F felony counts of burglary and misdemeanor counts of theft and criminal damage to property. The two were charged after they broke into a residence they had been invited to on Jan. 17, where they stole power tools, a television and a laptop. When the victims informed police, officers obtained a text conversation between Carpenter and Wiegel wherein they planned the burglary and where to sell the goods. Both signed $5,000 signature bonds with conditions they have no contact with the victim or each other. Their maximum possible sentences are 7.5 years in prison each.

• Jeremy Harold Hardyman, 31, Browntown, was charged in August with a Class H felony count of battery by a prisoner and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct after he dragged his cellmate out of his bunk and bear hugged him after a verbal altercation in the Green County Jail on July 24. Hardyman faces a maximum possible sentence of three years in prison.
