Felonies

• Scott Kevin Wright, 54, Monroe, was sentenced Aug. 18 to 120 days in jail for misdemeanor bail jumping and for revoking his 15-month deferred prosecution agreement on previous misdemeanor convictions of disorderly conduct, intimidation of a victim and bail jumping. Dismissed were felony charges of bail jumping and intimidation of a victim with threat of force. Court records indicate that on Aug. 31, 2014, a drunk and belligerent Wright got into an argument over money he had lost gambling and threatened to "take a baseball bat to all of you" and to kill a woman and her 2-year-old granddaughter. Police were again called to an altercation in the same home on April 29. This time, Wright reportedly threw the woman's prescription medicine in the toilet when she called police. Wright owes the court $1,029 in fines and fees.

• Austin Daniel Colliers, 18, Monroe, entered an 18-month deferred prosecution agreement Aug. 26 on a Class I felony conviction of marijuana possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor convictions of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia. As part of his agreement, he is ordered to consume no intoxicants or controlled substances and to undergo all recommended drug counseling. If he complies with the agreement, the entire case may be expunged from his record under a state law that grants leniency to young offenders. The charges stem from a traffic stop April 7 on Bethel Road north of Franklin Road, Town of Clarno. Officers reported locating 120.5 grams of marijuana in various containers in the 2009 Pontiac Grand Am, plus a digital scale, grinder and two boxes of baggies.

• Emily Renee Malin, 30, Albany, entered a 12-month deferred prosecution Sept. 4 on a Class H felony charge of battery to a law enforcement officer and a Class A misdemeanor charge of bail jumping. The case will be fully dismissed if she complies with conditions of the agreement, including attendance of quarterly monitoring conferences and mental health counseling. Court records indicate Malin bit down forcefully on an officer's lower right arm Nov. 24 at the Monroe Clinic ER.

• Thomas William Merrick Cozzens, 19, Monticello, was granted a 12-month deferred prosecution Sept. 4 on a Class B charge of disorderly conduct. Dismissed were a Class H felony charge of false imprisonment and a Class A misdemeanor charge of intimidating a victim to dissuade reporting. Under a state law that grants leniency to young offenders, the case is eligible to be expunged from Cozzens' record if he complies with his agreement. The charges stem from an incident May 17 at Cozzens' home in the 300 block of South Main Street. He reportedly screamed at a teen girl, grabbed her phone and threw it when she tried to call 911 and repeatedly pushed her onto a bed to keep her from leaving.

• Annebelle Beth Canady, 50, Monticello, was charged Aug. 24 with three counts of felony bail jumping and two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, stemming from an incident Aug. 20 at her apartment building in the 100 block of South Main Street. Canady allegedly yelled at a neighbor twice in one day, used profanities, called her foul names and accused her of crimes. Conditions of Canady's $1,000 signature bond include no contact with the victim or the apartment building and cooperation with Green County Human Services in relocating to a new residence. She has a pre-trial conference Sept. 15.

• Izhia Kiana Byrd, 20, Beloit, was charged Aug. 27 with a Class H felony count of misappropriating ID information to obtain money and a Class A misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit credit card theft, stemming from an incident July 29 at Straight Forward Call Solutions, 2602 1st Center Ave., Brodhead, where Byrd was employed. She allegedly conspired with another person to use three credit cards belonging to a coworker at Straight Forward Call Solutions to make payments at a gas station in Beloit. Her initial appearance is Sept. 28.

• Kelsey Ann Wuethrich, 24, Monroe, was charged Aug. 28 with felony bail jumping and two Class A misdemeanor counts of issuing worthless checks. Court records indicate she wrote a worthless check on July 27 in the amount of $172.81 to Gempeler's Supermarket, 219 N. Main St., Monticello, and on Aug. 9 in the amount of $120.71 to Monroe Beverage Mart, W5294 County KK. Her initial appearance is Sept. 14.



Misdemeanors

• Justin Daniel Nyman, 23, jailed in Monroe, was sentenced Aug. 19 to nine months in jail for revoking his probation on a conviction of misdemeanor bail jumping. His probation agent noted in a report that Nyman failed to update the court system with his address, drank alcohol on numerous occasions despite being under order not to drink, threw his girlfriend against a wall, gave her a black eye and has continued other antisocial behavior that indicates he "does not appear to fully understand the severity of his offenses."

• David Lee Webb, 23, Milton, pleaded no contest Aug. 24 to a Class A misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed weapon, a sheathed machete with an 18-inch blade. He was sentenced to five days in jail and fined $443. A second-offense misdemeanor charge of operating while intoxicated and a citation for having overly tinted vehicle windows were dismissed. The charges stem from a traffic stop March 22 in the 1000 block of 7th Avenue in Monroe. Court records indicate Webb "reeked of alcohol," failed field sobriety tests and had a machete under the driver's seat of his pickup truck.

• Ryan Timothy Lambeau Field, 18, Monroe, was sentenced to two years of probation Sept. 4 on two misdemeanor convictions of possessing marijuana, stemming from arrests in August 2014 and in April. Charges of possessing drug paraphernalia were dismissed. Field is ordered to obtain a high school diploma or the equivalent, not possess or consume any controlled substances and follow through with all recommended treatment and counseling.

• Nicole R. Kazar, 21, Beloit, entered a 12-month deferred prosecution agreement on two charges of misdemeanor bail jumping and four misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct. Conditions of her agreement include continued mental health counseling, attendance of quarterly monitoring conferences and no violent or abusive or otherwise disorderly contact with family members. The cases will be fully dismissed if she complies. The charges stem from a series of police calls in April and May to a home in Monroe. Kazar reportedly punched a man in the face, giving him a black eye, and choked him, leaving him with scratches around his neck. She also reportedly argued, yelled and threatened to "kill everyone in this house."

• Erin E. Brown, 25, Gratiot, was charged Aug. 19 with two Class A misdemeanor counts of writing worthless checks. Court records indicate she wrote 16 worthless checks totaling $1,020 in July to Papa Don's Horseshoe Saloon, 1901 10th Ave., Monroe, and one worthless check in the amount of $80 on July 31 to Flanagan's Shenanigan's, 1610 11th St., Monroe. Conditions of her $2,000 signature bond include no contact with either bar. She stood mute on the charges Aug. 24 and has a pre-trial conference Oct. 20.

• Phillip William Decker, 25, Janesville, was charged Aug. 21 with misdemeanor counts of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, stemming from a May 9 traffic stop for illegally tinted vehicle windows on 30th Street west of Wis. 69 in Monroe. Officers reported locating 3 grams of marijuana and rolling papers in the trunk of the black 2010 Cadillac. Decker's initial appearance is Sept. 21.
