Alizabeth A. Carroll, 27, Belleville, was found guilty on Tuesday , Oct. 4 after pleading no contest to possessing illegally obtained prescriptions and possessing drug paraphernalia, both unclassified misdemeanors, stemming from a June 13 incident, a second offense for Carroll. Court records show that Carroll had of 13 Adderrall pills found throughout her vehicle on County EE, near Schneeberger Road, in the Town of Mount Pleasant. There was also a smoking device used to ingest a controlled substance found on the front passenger side seat of the vehicle. She was fined $884.
- Michelle Gray, 34, Janesville, was found guilty on Tuesday, Oct. 4, after pleading no contest to intentionally contributing to the delinquency of a child, a class H felony; neglecting a child resulting in great bodily harm, a class A misdemeanor; and contributing to truancy, a class C misdemeanor, stemming from a Sept. 20, 2010 incident. Court records indicate that Gray falsely represented herself as the mother of a 13-year-old juvenile by calling the school the juvenile attended and telling them that the juvenile would not be at school because of an illness. She is also accused of giving the juvenile keys to her vehicle and giving her permission to drive the vehicle. The juvenile operated the vehicle in a reckless and neglectful way by driving over the speed limit and above a safe speed through the intersection of Bethel Road at County B without stopping at a stop sign, resulting in a collision with a truck. The collision caused injuries to the driver and the two passengers.
Gray's case was a deferred prosecution and sentence, where she is to follow the prosecution agreement, which includes alcohol treatment. Allen was sentenced to 24 months probation and fined $729.
- Tyler P. McCabe, 23, Monroe, was found guilty on Tuesday, Oct. 4 after pleading no contest to a charge of forgery-uttering, a class H felony, and theft of moveable property, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from Sept. 7 and 10 incidents. Court records indicate that he wrote a check with false information, drawing money from the account of someone else on Sept. 7. On Sept. 10, he wrote a check with false information from the same account.
McCabe's case was a deferred prosecution and sentence, where he is to follow the prosecution agreement, which includes alcohol and other drug abuse treatment and counseling. McCabe was sentenced to 18 months probation and fined $861.
McCabe was also found guilty on Oct. 4 after pleading no contest to a charge of retail theft, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from a Jan. 31 incident. He was sentenced to 18 months probation, to be served currently with the forgery and theft charge, and was fined $243.
- Kimberly S. Costa, 46, Monroe, was found guilty on Tuesday, Oct. 4 after pleading no contest to a count of failure to a support a child over 120 days, a class I felony, and a charge of failure to support a child under 120 days, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from a June 1, 2006 incident. Court records indicate that Costa did not support two children between June 1, 2006 to March 31, 2007, and between July 1, 2008 to Oct. 1, 2008.
Costa's case was a deferred prosecution and sentence, where she is to follow the prosecution agreement, which includes maintaining full-time employment. She was sentenced to 12 months probation with conditions, including paying child support. She was fined $80.
Costa was also found guilty on Oct. 4 of a charge of bail jumping, a class H felony, and bail jumping, a class A misdemeanor. Court records indicate that she failed to appear in court for a status conference and plea/sentencing hearing on Nov. 17, 2010 and Dec. 3, 2010.
