Felonies

• Paul M. Rose, 29, Gratiot, had bond set at $2,500 on Monday with additional conditions that he have no contact with the alleged victims in this case or WEKZ Big Radio or their radio transmission tower in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Rose is charged with one Class I felony count of criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor count of theft of moveable property stemming from an incident that occurred on Oct. 4. Police reports indicate Rose was arrested for allegedly stealing copper wire components from WEKZ radio tower site after an area salvage dealer was able to identify Rose. Rose is also under investigation for theft of copper wire from a cellphone tower and several other locations in Lafayette County.

Misdemeanors

• Norman W. Mueller, 73, Monroe, was released on a $1,000 signature bond on Monday with additional conditions that he have no violent or abusive contact with the alleged victim in this case. Mueller is charged with one count of domestic abuse-related battery stemming from an incident that occurred on Sept. 25. Court records indicate Mueller was arguing with his wife about damage to a vehicle he owned. Mueller then allegedly slapped the victim and across the back of her head. Mueller later admitted to police that he hit the victim but did so because she threw a frozen pizza he was cooking into a kitchen sink. Mueller has a pretrial conference set for Nov. 4.
