Donald Benson John Coffey, 20, Janesville, was sentenced to one year of probation and fined $443 after standing mute on a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. The charge stems from an incident on June 14 when a 17-year-old girl reported having received an unwanted sexually explicit picture from Coffey over Facebook. Coffey had also sent her a similar picture the previous July during a flirtatious conversation on Facebook, but no charges were filed at the time. According to the police report, Coffey "appeared physically sick" when he was told the girl was underage when she received the photos. He claimed he thought she was 18 years old, although the girl alleged that he had been aware of her age. Donald also claimed he had been under the influence of prescription painkillers when he sent the picture. A Class I felony charge of exposing a minor to explicit material was dismissed.
George Daniel Mosley, 28, Monroe, was sentenced to 18 months of probation and fined $1,043.50 as part of a deferred prosecution on Oct. 29 after pleading no contest to a Class A misdemeanor charge of bail jumping, a Class A misdemeanor charge of battery and a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. The battery and disorderly conduct charges stem from an incident on June 7, 2014, when Mosley violently abused a woman at a residence in the N3600 block of Wisconsin 59, Town of Sylvester, garnering additional charges of strangulation, false imprisonment and battery. Mosley signed a $3,000 signature bond with conditions that he have no violent or abusive contact with the woman. He violated this bond on April 19, 2015, when he became abusive to the same woman at a residence in the 230 block of 5th Avenue, Monroe, leading to the bail jumping charge. Mosley signed a $2,000 signature bond on April 21 with the same conditions as the first.
