Felonies
- Justin Lee Buelteman, 17, Monroe, was found guilty Feb. 8, after pleading no contest to three counts of burglary, a class F felony, from incidents on August 19 and Oct. 24, 2010. The court sentenced him to five years of probation and 12 months in jail, and fined him $36,000 in restitution and court costs. Court records indicate Buelteman, without permission entered a home and two businesses located on the north side and in downtown Monroe, with the intent to steal.
In another case, Buelteman was found guilty Feb. 8, after pleading no contest to one count of burglary, a class F felony, from an Oct. 19 incident. The court sentenced him to five years of probation and 12 months in jail, both to run concurrently with the above case, and fined him $1,500 in restitution and court costs. Court records indicate Buelteman, without permission, entered a business during the night near downtown Monroe, with the intent to steal.
- Silvia Maria Cabello, 42, of Machesney Park, Ill., was found guilty Feb. 16, after pleading no contest to one count of forgery, a Class H felony, related to a May 30 incident. The court sentenced Cabello to three years of probation and six months in jail, and fined her $112 in court costs. Court records indicate Cabello tried to use a counterfeit $20 bill, knowing it had been falsely made, at a business in downtown Monroe.
- Patrick R. Gonzalez, 26, Cathedral City, Calif., was found guilty Feb. 18, after pleading no contest to possession of less than 100 grams of Psilocin with intent to sell, a class G felony, stemming from a May 29, 2009, incident. He was sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to pay $1,370 in court costs and other fees. Court records indicate about 16 grams of psilocybin mushrooms in a container; about 20 grams of mushrooms on screens; and more of the mushrooms in 12 jars that also were seized as a result of a search warrant executed in a building in downtown Monroe, which Gonzalez occupied.
In another case, Gonzalez was found guilty, after pleading no contest to bail jumping, a Class H felony, from a Nov. 3, 2009 incident. He was sentenced to 102 days in the local jail and ordered to pay $20 in court costs. Court records indicate that Gonzalez failed to appear at a pre-trial conference at the Green County Justice Center for the above case.
Misdemeanors
- Eric J. King, 34, of Monroe, entered into a deferred prosecution agreement on Feb. 25, to possession of THC, (second offense), for an incident that occurred on Nov. 13, 2010. He also pleaded no contest to a charge of bail jumping and was sentenced to 14 days in jail, eligible for Huber Law work-release, and 24 months probation.
- Matthew D. Disch, 24, Monticello, entered into a 12-month deferred prosecution agreement on March 2 after pleading no contest to charges of theft (over $2,500), and resisting/obstructing an officer, related to an incident on May 23, 2010.
- Dawn M. Voie, 46, of Brodhead, entered into a deferred prosecution agreement after pleading no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct on March 2, related to an incident that occurred on Dec. 28, 2010.
- Christopher S. Meyer, 24, of New Glarus, entered into deferred prosecution agreements after pleading no contest on March 3 to charges of resisting or obstructing an officer and disorderly conductrelated to an incident that occurred on Dec. 28, 2010.
- Howard J. Riemer, 42, of DeForest, was found guilty of Resisting or Obstructing an Officer on March 2, related to an incident that occurred on July 17, 2010. He was sentenced to five days in jail (with credit for time served).
- Justin D. Nyman, 20, of Browntown, entered into a 12-month deferred prosecution agreements after pleading no contest on March 2 to charges of disorderly conduct, and unlawful phone use/threatens harm, related to an offense that occurred on Dec. 4. 2010. James L. Sweeney, 28, of Monroe, pleaded no contest on March 2 to charges of disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing an officer related to an incident that occurred on Oct. 29, 2010.
- Scott M. Menehan, 44, of Monroe, pleaded no contest to a charge of bail jumping on March 2, related to an incident that occurred on Nov. 21, 2010. He was sentenced to 24 months probation and fined $176. He also pleaded no contest to knowingly violating a domestic abuse order related to an incident that occurred on June 30, 2010. On that charge he was sentenced to 24 months probation.
- Robert J. Gile, 56, of Albany, entered into a deferred prosecution agreement on a charge of disorderly conduct on March 2 related to an incident that occurred Nov. 27, 2010.
