MONROE - Thomas W. M. Cozzens, 18, Monticello, was charged May 26 with a Class H felony count of false imprisonment and misdemeanor counts of domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct and intimidating a victim to dissuade reporting. A warrant is issued for his arrest. The charges stem from an incident May 17 at his home on South Main Street. Court records indicate he yelled and screamed at a teen girl, grabbed her phone when she tried to call 911 and repeatedly pushed her to keep her from leaving the residence.
• Ashton Thomas Jelle, 19, Belleville, was charged May 27 with a Class H felony count of taking and driving a vehicle without the owner's consent. Court records indicate Jelle stole a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van from a residence on County C in the Town of Albany on May 17, drove it around the area and later abandoned it. His signature bond is set at $2,000. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled July 8.
