Misdemeanors

• James E. Truesdill, 39, Janesville, had two counts of disorderly conduct dismissed on a prosecutor's motion Tuesday. Court records indicate Truesdill was accused of swearing and passing out on a picnic table in a New Glarus public park on Aug. 2. These charges were dismissed.

• James E. Truesdill, 39, Janesville, was found guilty due to a no-contest plea of disorderly conduct and resisting an officer on Tuesday as a part of a deferred prosecution agreement. He also had charges of battery to law enforcement officers and another count of disorderly conduct dismissed. Court records indicate deputies responded to Truesdill's home where there was a reported domestic disturbance. The deputies found Truesdill sitting outside and looked visibly intoxicated. The deputies told him he was under arrest, but Truesdill kept yelling "this is my property," while backing away from the officers. Truesdill is 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, and the deputies worried he may attack. He resisted the officers as they attempted to handcuff him so he was tazed. The tazer seemed to have no effect and Truesdill pulled out the barbs. The deputies tazed him a total of five times and sprayed his face with mace, but not before Truesdill punched one of the deputies in the face. Truesdill could have charges dismissed as a part of the deferred prosecution agreement if he continues ongoing treatment through alcohol and other drug assessment classes. Judge Thomas Vale told Truesdill in court Tuesday that he has the opportunity to prove himself and avoid jail time. "But if you're back here again on other charges, it will include jail time," Vale said. Truesdill owes the court $100.
