Ulysses James Miilu, 26, Middleton, pleaded no contest Friday, March 15, to a charge of carrying a concealed weapon on July 20 at the scene of a traffic accident on Wisconsin 92 at Blazer Road in Exeter Township. The charge had been downgraded from a misdemeanor to a forfeiture. Court records indicate officers seized a 2- to 3-foot sword concealed within a scabbard disguised as a cane from the backseat of Miilu's car. He is fined $217.10. The court ordered that the cane may be returned to him.
Dalton Alan Larson, 19, Monroe, pleaded no contest Monday, March 18, to a Class A misdemeanor charge of possessing a hazardous substance with the intent to abuse it. Court records indicate Larson was found passed out in a vehicle afterhours on Oct. 5 at Pleasant View Park, N3300 County N, Monroe Township, after smoking synthetic marijuana ("potpourri") using a homemade pipe he fashioned out of foil. He reportedly told an officer he smokes the substance so his urine is clean for job-related drug tests. He was granted a one-year deferred prosecution with the conditions that he undergo an assessment for alcohol and other drug abuse and comply with all counseling recommendations, pay the court $243 and attend quarterly monitoring conferences.
Grayson Kenneth Privett, 17, Monroe, pleaded no contest Friday, March 22, to a Class A misdemeanor charge of retail theft and was sentenced to five days in jail. A forfeiture charge of underage drinking was dismissed. Court records indicate Privett shoplifted two one-liter bottles of Southern Comfort liquor on Sept. 16 from the Monroe Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W.

James Thomas Westemeier, 40, Cuba City, was sentenced Wednesday, March 20, to three years of probation for revoking his deferred prosecution on Jan. 16 on convictions from 2011 and 2012 of strangulation and suffocation, battery, disorderly conduct and resisting/obstructing an officer. Conditions of his probation include completing an assessment for alcohol and other drug abuse and following through with all counseling recommendations. He is also ordered not to drink or enter any establishment that sells primarily alcohol. He owes the court $728.
James Eugene Edge, 26, Darlington, pleaded guilty Wednesday, March 20, to a Class H felony charge of false imprisonment. He also pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to three years of probation with the conditions that he pay $155 in restitution, participate in all recommended counseling and mental health treatment, undergo an assessment for alcohol or other drug abuse and have no contact with the victim. The charges stem from a domestic abuse-related incident in August at a residence on South Galena Road in Elk Grove Township.
David A. Burgos, 22, Monroe, was sentenced Wednesday, March 20, to one year in jail for revoking his probation on March 8 on a Class I felony conviction from 2009 of manufacturing/delivering THC (marijuana). Since he has served and has credit for 359 days in jail, the sentence has been served. He was ordered to pay a $115 fine and $370 in restitution.

Trevor Jon Thuli, 20, Darlington, pleaded guilty Monday, March 18, to an unclassified misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia on Oct. 13 in Gratiot. A jail sentence of 30 days was imposed and stayed. He was sentenced to one year on probation, with the conditions that he undergo an assessment for alcohol or other drug abuse and follow through with any recommendations. He is also ordered not to drink or enter any establishment that sells primarily alcohol.
Cody Christopher Dorr, 19, Mineral Point, was fined $300 Tuesday, March 19, for revoking his deferred prosecution on Feb. 19 for an unclassified misdemeanor conviction of possessing THC (marijuana) last June.
Kyle G. Johnson, 22, Darlington, was sentenced to six months in jail Tuesday, March 19, for revoking his probation on March 7 on convictions from 2010 and 2011 of criminal damage to property, trespassing, battery and bail jumping.
