The court Thursday entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with James K. Scheidegger, 49, Brodhead, who pleaded no contest to battery.
He faced up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement.
The charges will be dismissed in one year if he complies with the terms of the agreement.
The court dismissed one count of criminal trespass, also a class A misdemeanor. He originally faced up to 18 months in jail and up to $20,000 in fines.
Court records indicate he elbowed a woman at a Brodhead residence Feb. 14, 2007.
The court Thursday sentenced Nicole J. Gatza, 29, Brodhead, to 12 months probation after she pleaded no contest to possession of a controlled substance and obtaining prescription drugs without a prescription.
She faced up to seven months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the unclassified misdemeanors.
The court dismissed one count of possession of controlled substances, also an unclassified misdemeanor. She originally faced up to eight months in jail and up to $1,500 in fines.
Court records indicate she had medicine prescribed to another person in her possession Jan. 28 in Brodhead.

He faced up to six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the unclassified misdemeanor.

The court dismissed one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor.
He originally faced up to seven months in jail and up to $1,500 in fines.
