On Monday, March 10:

• Luke T. Hassell, 34, Monroe, was found guilty due to a no contest plea for one count retail theft, a Class A Misdemeanor, and owes the court $452. According to court records, Hassell took $445.56 worth of merchandise from Walmart in Monroe, on Dec. 23. He stole video games, cellphone cases and boys socks, among other items. Records indicate Hassell and his alleged accomplice Marcella N. Ingram, 36, Monroe, put the items into a Walmart plastic bag and were stopped by loss prevention staff in the foyer. Ingram said "she felt ashamed." She faces similar charges and has a plea/sentencing hearing on March 17.

• Michael R. Fricks, 24, Monroe, was found guilty due to a no contest plea to two Class A Misdemeanor counts of battery and taking a vehicle without consent from a residence in the N2300 block of Bethel Road, Town of Monroe. Fricks was arrested on Jan. 2, 2013, with hitting a man in the face and attempting to tow away the man's vehicle with an ATV. Fricks became stuck in the snow while attempting to tow the vehicle. Fricks owes the court $176 and must obtain and keep a job for the duration of his two-year probation. Fricks has a restitution hearing on April 9.
