Green County felonies
• Andrew J. Martin, 34, and Alana M. Olson, 29, both of Monroe, were granted 12-month deferred prosecutions in drug-related cases Tuesday. In separate cases, both face Class I felony counts of possessing cocaine and marijuana, and a misdemeanor count of possessing drug paraphernalia. If they comply with terms of the agreements, which order them not to drink or take nonprescription drugs, the charges will be dismissed after a year. The charges stem from a March 19 incident in the 2200 block of 1st Street in Monroe.
Misdemeanors
• Shanna R. Myhand, 30, Monroe, is charged with a Class A misdemeanor count of theft of movable property, according to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday. Myhand allegedly stole a Amazon Kindle Fire HD tablet and case valued at $190 March 30 from a car in the Monroe Clinic parking lot. After the theft was reported later that day, police contacted Amazon, which told them in April that the tablet had been de-registered and re-registered to Myhand. Police went to her residence April 18 and asked her if she owned that model of tablet. She said she did, and that she bought it from an individual in Freeport, Ill. When police shared the information they had received from Amazon, she admitted she stole it from a car and was arrested. She was taken to jail, booked and released. She has an initial appearance June 15.
• Gene A. Isely, 33, Monroe, is charged with a Class A misdemeanor count of theft of movable property, according to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday. Isely allegedly took around $1,300 in cash out of a wallet April 29 at Monroe's Leisure Lanes, 2308 6th Ave. The man who reported the theft told police he left his wallet atop a change machine while he played pinball with his friends for around 15 minutes. He said when he noticed his wallet was missing, he suspected Isely had taken it because he was the only person who had used the change machine while the wallet was sitting on it. Police reviewed video from the bowling alley's surveillance cameras the following day, which reportedly showed a man taking a wallet-sized black item on top of the change machine and putting it in his pocket. A Leisure Lanes employee found a wallet, which contained the victim's drivers license but no cash, in a bathroom May 2, according to the complaint. The police report did not specify why the victim was carrying so much cash. Isely has an initial appearance June 15.
• Eric J. Gruber, 47, Monroe, was charged with a Class B misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct Wednesday for allegedly yelling and swearing loudly at police in a hospital May 16, where they had taken him after he crashed his bike in the 1100 block of 15th Avenue. When police made contact with Gruber, he was reportedly "extremely intoxicated," and they placed him in protective custody because he would not name a responsible party to take him home, and they were concerned for his well-being. According to police reports, he was transported to the Monroe Clinic emergency room for medical clearance, where he was uncooperative with hospital staff and tried to pull away from officers multiple times as they escorted him to an exam room. Police arrested Gruber at the hospital, and took him to jail after he was medically cleared. Court records indicate Gruber posted a $150 cash bond May 17. He has an initial appearance June 15.
