The court Tuesday entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled an Aug. 5 district attorney conference for Steven J. Montgomery, 53, Stockton, Ill., who stood mute to burglary and theft charges.
Court records allege he entered a Jefferson township residence between Feb. 1 and July 1, 2007 and took a camera phone and rings. Between July 1 and September 2007, he took copper wire and batteries from the residence.
He is charged with burglary, a class F felony, and two counts of theft, both class A misdemeanors. He faces more than 13 years in prison and up to $30,000 in fines, if convicted.
He remains free on a $500 cash bond.

Court records allege he followed a woman throughout Monroe, drove by her house, sat in his car across the street from her home and watched her home with binoculars between March and July 2007.
He is charged with stalking, a class I felony, and three counts of violating a domestic abuse order, all unclassified misdemeanors. He faces more than five years in prison and up to $13,000 in fines, if convicted.
He remains free on a $9,000 signature bond.
