misdemeanors

• Kyle L. McNett, 28, Warren, was charged Thursday with misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing an officer and operating while revoked. The charge stems from an April 26 incident in which McNett allegedly hit a vehicle, fled and lied to police about it. One person in the car McNett allegedly rear-ended with his white truck told investigators McNett got out of his vehicle, said "I didn't hit you," got back in and drove off after witness and victims, none of whom were injured, began discussing the crash and possibly notifying police. A witness followed McNett's truck to a residence in the 2600 block of 3rd Avenue, according to police reports, and reported the location to authorities. Police went to the residence, which McNett had reportedly already left, and determined that McNett was the truck's owner. They contacted a resident who was home, who told them McNett and another man drove off in a different truck. Police called the other man and asked to speak to McNett, who reportedly told them he wasn't aware of a crash earlier in the day and that a friend had "probably" been driving his truck. Police later interviewed the man who handed McNett the phone, and he told them McNett arrived at his residence alone in his white truck about 30 minutes before he got the call. Two victims identified McNett from a photo array, which, according to court records, gave police probable cause to charge him. McNett has an initial appearance June 15.
