Misdemeanors

• The court Monday scheduled a Sept. 1 district attorney conference and entered a plea of not guilty for Margaret Ree, 62, Browntown, who stood mute to charges of concealing stolen property and obstructing an officer.

Court records allege she concealed a stolen children's picnic table, gym set and a slide May 4 at a Cadiz township residence. She told police she purchased the items.

She is charged with concealing stolen property and obstructing an officer, both class A misdemeanors. She faces up to 18 months in jail and up to $20,000 in fines, if convicted.

• The court Friday scheduled an Oct. 16 district attorney conference for Sean R. Schmelzer, 22, Brodhead, who pleaded not guilty to battery and disorderly conduct.

Court records allege he hit a man with a beer bottle March 1 in Monroe.

He is charged with battery, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He faces up to one year in prison and up to $11,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $2,000 signature bond.

• The court July 22 entered into a one-year deferred prosecution agreement with Christine Newsome, 19, Stillman Valley, Ill., who pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana.

She faced up to six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the unclassified misdemeanor.

The court will dismiss the charges in one year if she complies with the terms of the agreement.

Court records indicate she had more than nine grams of marijuana inside a plastic bag in a vehicle May 1 in Brodhead.

• The court July 20 entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled an Oct. 16 district attorney conference for Samantha M. Sundlie, 19, Monroe, who stood mute to disorderly conduct charges.

Court records allege she swore at a man, swung box cutters at him and yelled obscenities outside of the Monroe Police Department June 20 in Monroe.

She is charged with two counts of disorderly conduct, both class B misdemeanors. She faces up to six months in jail and up to $2,000 in fines, if convicted.

She remains free on a $750 signature bond.

• The court July 20 entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled an Aug. 18 district attorney conference for James J. Kremboski, 30, New Glarus, who stood mute to battery and disorderly conduct charges.

Court records allege he pushed a woman and put his hand on her neck May 7 in New Glarus township.

He is charged with battery, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He faces up to one year in jail and up to $11,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $750 signature bond.

• The court July 20 entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled a Sept. 29 district attorney conference for Dale Atkinson, 50, Monticello, who stood mute to a disorderly conduct charge.

Court records allege he argued and pushed a woman May 17 in Monticello.

He is charged with disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He faces up to three months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines, if convicted.

Felonies

• The court Friday sentenced Leonard R. Lee, 33, New Glarus, to six months in jail, six years probation and ordered him to pay $21,505 in restitution for entering a New Glarus home and causing damage.

He faced more than 12 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines for the class F felony.

The court dismissed once count of felony criminal damage to property, a class I felony, and one count of misdemeanor criminal damage to property and theft, both class A misdemeanors. He originally faced more than 16 years in prison and up to $55,000 in fines.

Court records indicate he entered a home and caused damage May 18 in New Glarus.

• The court Friday entered into a two-year deferred prosecution agreement with Timothy J. Hicks, 23, Brodhead, who pleaded no contest to substantial battery.

He faced more than three years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines for the class I felony.

The court dismissed two counts of disorderly conduct, both class B misdemeanors. He originally faced more than four years in prison and up to $12,000 in fines.

Court records indicate he fought with a man and kicked him in the face, causing bone fractures, Aug. 2 in Brodhead.

• The court Friday entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled an Aug. 18 district attorney conference for Angel Santiago, 25, Monroe, who stood mute to burglary, theft and concealing stolen property.

Court records allege he entered a Monroe business and took beer and money, July 12. He allegedly kept the items at a Monroe residence.

He is charged with burglary, a class F felony, and theft and concealing stolen property, both class A misdemeanors. He faces more than 13 years in prison and up to $45,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $400 cash bond and a $1,600 signature bond.

• The court Friday entered a plea of not guilty and scheduled a Sept. 29 district attorney conference for William T. Siegenthaler, 33, Monroe, who stood mute to false imprisonment, battery and disorderly conduct.

Court records allege he pushed a woman to the floor, repeatedly hit her and refused to let her leave the residence May 8 in Monroe.

He is charged with false imprisonment, a class H felony, battery, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He faces up to seven years in prison and up to $21,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $1,500 signature bond.

• Adam W. Tracy, 18, Orfordville, remains free on a $3,000 signature bond after making his initial appearance July 20 for substantial battery and disorderly conduct.

Court records allege he hit a man in the face and broke his jaw May 6 in Decatur township.

He is charged with substantial battery, a class I felony, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He faces more than three years in prison and up to $11,000 in fines, if convicted.

His preliminary hearing is Sept. 9
