Felonies

• The court Thursday scheduled a Sept. 29 district attorney conference and entered a plea of not guilty for Lawrence D. Griffin, 36, Gurnee, Ill., who stood mute to burglary and theft charges.

Court records allege he entered a business and took six all-terrain vehicles May 20 in Monroe.

He is charged with burglary, a class F felony, theft, a class G felony, and theft, a class I felony. He faces up to 26 years in prison and up to $60,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $40,000 signature bond.

• The court Thursday scheduled an Aug. 18 district attorney conference for Jerry A. Jackson Jr., 38, Monroe, who pleaded not guilty to charges related to a disturbance.

Court records allege he grabbed a woman by the throat and strangled her, slapped her and broke a baby bottle May 29 in Monroe. He was on bond for battery, disorderly conduct, intimidation of a victim and criminal damage to property.

He is charged with strangulation and suffocation and bail jumping, both class H felonies, battery and criminal damage to property, both class A misdemeanors, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He faces more than 13 years in prison and up to $41,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $5,000 signature bond.

Misdemeanors

• The court Thursday sentenced Randy T. Kruser, 43, Monroe, to two years probation after he pleaded no contest to battery.

He faced up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines for the class A misdemeanor.

The court dismissed four counts of bail jumping, each a class H felony, and two counts of disorderly conduct, both class B misdemeanors. He originally faced more than 25 years in prison and up to $52,000 in fines.

Court records say he slammed a woman's hand in a car door June 26 in Monroe.

• The court July 7 entered into a one-year deferred prosecution agreement with Michael J. Coulthard, 25, Monroe, who pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct.

He faced up to three months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines for the class B misdemeanor.

The court dismissed one count of intimidation of a victim, a class A misdemeanor, and one count of disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He originally faced up to 15 months in jail and up to $12,000 in fines.

Court records say he grabbed a chair, lifted it over his head as if to hit a person and then slammed it to the floor Feb. 14 in Monroe.

• The court Friday fined Chad M. Folstad, 26, Monroe, $428 after he pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana.

He faced up to six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines for the unclassified misdemeanor.

The court dismissed one count possession of drug paraphernalia, also an unclassified misdemeanor.

Court records indicate he had two grams of marijuana in his possession March 10 in Monroe.
