• The court Thursday sentenced John L. Lowery, 26, West Dundee, Ill., to five days in jail with two days credit and fined him $224 after he pleaded no contest to battery and disorderly conduct.

He faced up to one year in jail and up to $11,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class A and class B misdemeanors.

The court dismissed two counts of bail jumping and one count of disorderly conduct. He originally faced up to 33 months in jail and up to $31,000 in fines.

Court records indicate he punched a woman and swore at her May 24 in a Monroe residence.

In a second case, he was sentenced to 10 days in jail with work release privileges after he pleaded no contest to battery. He faced up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class A misdemeanor.
