Felonies
Tyler Patrick McCabe, 24, inmate at the Green County Jail in Monroe, pleaded guilty Friday, Jan. 11, to a misdemeanor charge of possessing a controlled substance (a prescription medication) in October and was sentenced to 30 days in jail (time served) and fined $243. He also pleaded no contest to revoking his probation on previous felony and misdemeanor convictions of forgery, theft and retail theft and was sentenced to seven months in jail. He still owes the court more than $1,000 on these convictions.
Andrew S. Kjelland, 25, Milwaukee, pleaded no contest Friday, Jan. 11, to a misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer and was granted a one-year deferred prosecution with the conditions that he continue care and educational programs for sobriety and alcohol rehabilitation, follow all counseling and treatment recommendations, attend monitoring conferences and not drink. A felony charge of battery to law enforcement officers, as well as misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, were dismissed. The charges stem from an arrest Sept. 17 outside Payne's Pub, 1101 First Center Ave., Brodhead. Court records indicate Kjelland was arguing with and pushing another man, then struggled, kicked and bit at officers, EMS personnel and Monroe Clinic staff while yelling at them, and lunged at a Green County Sheriff's deputy and bit his gloved hand.
