Green County Circuit Court
Felonies
Shane A. Chesebro, 36, Monroe, pleaded no contest Jan. 17 to a misdemeanor charge of possessing cocaine, downgraded from a felony charge of distributing cocaine, and was sentenced to six months on probation. Court records indicate Chesebro was involved in the sale of an "8-ball" baggie containing 3.3 grams of cocaine for $225 to a confidential source in a gas station parking lot in Monroe on May 25.
Naomi Renea Balderas, 34, Madison, pleaded no contest Jan. 18 to two Class A misdemeanor charges of battery and was sentenced to two years on probation, with conditions that she undergo an alcohol or drug abuse assessment and take anger management classes. Felony charges of strangulation and bail jumping were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. Court records show the charges stem from two incidents in New Glarus in 2017. On July 28, Balderas pushed and choked a family member in front of young children in a home on 14th Avenue. On Nov. 20, at the same home, she hit a man and bit his forearm in a dispute over an intervention the man planned to hold to help Balderas get treatment for a drug addiction. The man told police he suspected she was under the influence of heroin at the time.
