Green County Felonies

• The court Thursday sentenced Aaron L. Frayer, 42, Brodhead, to two years probation after he pleaded no contest to substantial battery.

He faced more than three years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class I felony.

The court dismissed charges of false imprisonment, a class H felony; battery, resisting an officer, trespassing and entry to a locked building, all class A misdemeanors; and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He originally faced more than 12 years in prison and up to $61,000 in fines.

Court records indicate he hit a woman three times, causing a concussion, Jan. 12 in Brodhead.

• The court Thursday scheduled a March 23 district attorney conference for Timothy S. Walls, 29, Albany, who pleaded not guilty to burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.

Court records indicate he entered a storage shed and took three chainsaws Dec. 6 in Monticello. He concealed a chainsaw in his residence.

He is charged with burglary, a class F felony, theft and receiving stolen property, both class A misdemeanors. He faces more than 13 years in prison and up to $45,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $2,500 signature bond.

Misdemeanors

• The court Thursday scheduled a March 4 plea hearing for Sean R. Schmelzer, 23, Monroe, who is charged with battery and disorderly conduct.

Court records allege he hit a man on the head with a beer bottle March 1 in Monroe.

He is charged with battery, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He faces up to one year in jail and up to $11,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $2,000 signature bond.

In a second case, the court scheduled a March 4 plea hearing for a charge of attempted battery and disorderly conduct.

Court records allege he slapped a woman three times March 7 at a Monroe business.

He is charged with attempted battery, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He faces more than seven months in jail and up to $6,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $1,500 signature bond.

In a third case, the court scheduled a March 4 plea hearing for a charge of bail jumping.

Court records allege he drank alcohol in violation of his bond May 25 in Monroe.

He is charged with bail jumping, a class A misdemeanor. He faces up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $500 signature bond.

In a fourth case, the court scheduled a March 4 plea hearing for a charge of bail jumping.

Court records allege he drank alcohol in violation of his bond Aug. 16 in Monroe.

He is charged with bail jumping, a class A misdemeanor. He faces up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $500 signature bond.

In a fifth case, the court scheduled a March 4 plea hearing for a charge of obstructing an officer and bail jumping.

Court records allege he ran from police during an investigation and violated his bond Sept. 25 in Monroe.

He is charged with obstructing an officer and bail jumping, both class A misdemeanors. He faces up to 18 months in jail and up to $20,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $5,000 signature bond.

In a sixth case, the court scheduled a March 4 plea hearing for bail jumping.

Court records allege he violated the terms of his bond by being out at about 2:45 a.m. Nov. 28 in Monroe.

He is charged with bail jumping, a class A misdemeanor. He faces up to nine months in jail and up to $10,000 in fines, if convicted.

He remains free on a $500 signature bond.

• The court Thursday entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with Derick R. Belke, 21, Monroe, who pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana.

He faced up to six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the unclassified misdemeanor.

Court records indicate he had about 4 grams of marijuana in his possession Dec. 11 in Monroe.
