Misdemeanors

- Carlos Aguirre Rivera, 39, Monroe, was sentenced to nine months in jail on Monday, Dec. 5, for a Class A misdemeanor conviction stemming from a Feb. 15 incident in which he slapped and choked a female during a domestic dispute. Judge Thomas J. Vale also ordered him to pay the $750 remainder of a $1,250 restitution fine. River's jail time may be served under the Huber Law as long as he reports to the jail and is not found consuming alcohol or controlled substances. A trial jury found Rivera guilty of the battery charge on July 1.

- Trey Robert Leopold, 17, Monroe, pleaded no contest and received deferred prosecution on Monday, Dec. 5, for a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing an officer during an Oct. 17 incident in Monroe. Two Class A misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property and jumping bail stemming from the same incident were dismissed. Conditions of Leopold's one-year deferred prosecution include an Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse assessment, monitoring conferences and completion of high school or the equivalent. Leopold was also fined $163.

- Ryan James Heaslip, 24, Monroe, pleaded no contest and received a one-year deferred prosecution on Nov. 23 for a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct stemming from a domestic dispute that occurred June 19 in Monroe. A Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing an officer was dismissed. Conditions of Heaslip's deferred prosecution include counseling, monitoring conferences and attendance of a victim-impact panel with the Green County Human Services Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse unit. He was also fined $263.
