MONROE - Shannon Kay Graff, 41, Monroe, was cleared Thursday, Dec. 22, of a theft charge and found guilty of committing gas station fraud. Both charges stem from a Feb. 10 incident. She was accused of stealing $10 in gas from a gas station in the 1000 block of 9th Street, and taking from the counter a memorial fund being collected for the family of Randy Eberle. According to court records, the memorial fund container had about $100 in it. The theft of the memorial fund, a Class A misdemeanor charge, was dismissed on the prosecutor's motion. She pleaded no contest to the fraud charge, a Class D forfeiture, and was fined $263.50.
Dustin David Schmid, 18, Albany, was cleared Tuesday, Dec. 27, of a charge of disorderly conduct stemming from an incident on Sept. 10. The charge, a Class B misdemeanor, was dismissed on the prosecutor's motion, and Schmid is presumed innocent.
Javier Luis De La Uz, 39, Rockton, Ill., received a two-year deferred prosecution and paid $2,337 in restitution on Thursday, Dec. 29, for a Class I felony charge of criminal damage to property stemming from an incident in April. Charges of disorderly conduct and resisting or obstructing an officer were dismissed on prosecutor's motion. Court records indicate De La Uz damaged a 1998 Infiniti SUV during a dispute in Clarno, denting the exterior and breaking the windows, windshield and headlights. As part of his deferred prosecution agreement, he may not leave Wisconsin and Illinois without the court's permission and is ordered to have no contact with the victims or their residence.
Joseph E. Allen, 35, Warren, Ill., was found guilty and sentenced to two years of probation for a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing an officer in June. Charges of cocaine possession and two counts of bail jumping were dismissed on the prosecutor's motion. As part of his probation agreement, he will reside with his mother in Stockton, Ill. He paid restitution to the court of $133.19.
