Felonies
Victor Manuel Landa-Aguino, 27, Belmont, was charged Tuesday, Nov. 20, with felony counts of aggravated battery and second-degree recklessly endangering safety and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. The charges stem from the alleged ongoing abuse of a woman at a residence on Dawn Vista Terrace in Belmont. His cash bond is set at $5,000, with the conditions that he have no contact with the woman or her children and not drink or enter any establishment that sells primarily alcohol.
Robert J. Stietz, 64, Gratiot, was charged Wednesday, Nov. 28, with a Class F felony charge of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, two misdemeanor counts of resisting a conservation warden and a misdemeanor count of endangering safety with the use of a dangerous weapon. Court records indicate two wardens came across him in an outdoor area in the 7000 block of Wis. 81 in the Town of Lamont at about sunset Sunday, Nov. 25, the closing day of the nine-day deer hunting season in Wisconsin. Hunting closed that day at sunset and Stietz told the wardens he wasn't hunting but looking for trespassers. In the course of the interaction, Stietz reportedly hit one of the wardens in the stomach with the stock of his rifle and then aimed a revolver at the wardens. Stietz allegedly kept the wardens and deputies called to the scene in a one-hour standoff before one of the deputies was able to convince Stietz to put down the revolver. Stietz posted a cash bond of $15,000 the same day the charges were filed against him. Conditions of his bond include no possession of firearms.
