Felonies

• David A. Burgos, 24, Monroe, was found guilty due to a guilty plea on Tuesday of two counts of possession of marijuana, second offense, and one count of manufacturing/delivering marijuana. Burgos will serve six months in jail with work-release privileges, be on probation for five years, is ordered to undergo alcohol and other drugs assessment classes and must not drink or do drugs. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on March 28. Court records indicate the State Line Area Narcotics Team had investigated Burgos for delivering marijuana for several days prior to his arrest. Burgos had sold marijuana to a SLANT agent on March 21 and March 25. A warrant was authorized, and agents seized 34 grams of pot from Burgos' house on March 28. The pot was in a glass jar locked in a floor safe. They also seized a baggy with 2.1 grams of marijuana, a blue digital scale, two metal grinders, baggies and several pot pipes. Burgos paid a fine of $1,164 to the court on Tuesday.

• Derek J. Larosh, 26, Monroe, was released on bond set at $9,800 Monday with additional conditions that he have no contact with the alleged victim, not drink or have any contact with the Friendly Inn Tavern. Larosh is charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault of an unconscious victim, one count of second-degree sexual assault with the use of force and four counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on July 27. Court records indicate Larosh sexually assaulted a woman who was unconscious due to a high level of intoxication. The woman was not known to Larosh; they had met that night during the victim's 21st birthday. The victim and another woman could not find their car so they were waiting at Larosh's home for a ride. The other woman left and asked if Larosh would let the victim stay with him for the night. The victim was sleeping in Larosh's bed when she allegedly woke up to Larosh sexually assaulting her by penetrating her anus. She alleged she was conscious for about 10 to 15 minutes and was crying and screaming, asking Larosh to stop. She alleged Larosh put his hand over her mouth and told her to "shh." Larosh alleged the sexual act was consensual. The victim reported the incident to police the next afternoon and was taken to Madison for a medical examination. The victim had a small bruise on her arm, there were abrasions on her knees and a small cut on the back of her neck. Police executed a search warrant on July 29 and searched Larosh's home, seizing the sheets and comforter from his bedroom. Larosh was interviewed at the police station on July 30 and subsequently arrested. He has a preliminary hearing set for Monday.



Misdemeanors

• James Joseph Johnson, 29, Monroe, was found guilty due to a no-contest plea Thursday of taking and driving a vehicle without consent. Johnson owes a forfeiture fine of $515. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on April 21. Court records indicate he stole a 2003 Pontiac Aztec that was left on the corner of 8 1/2 Street and 27th Avenue, Monroe. The victim knew Johnson and that he had a key to her car. The victim had the responding officer call Johnson's cellphone. Johnson answered and said he did not have the car and then told the officer to tell Kayla to give him back his cellphone and she could get the key. The victim left the cellphone at the police station where Johnson came without her vehicle and was arrested.

• Kenneth Claus Greve Jr., 29, Monroe, revoked his probation on June 30 and was subsequently sentenced to six months in jail on Wednesday. Greve was charged with intentionally pointing a firearm at a person on June 2, 2013. His probation was revoked following a domestic disturbance by committing another crime. Court records indicate that Greve revoked his probation by punching a man who was with his girlfriend. The victim had a split lip and said Greve had punched him several times in the face.
