The court Thursday sentenced Benjamin R. Normington, 22, Brodhead, to two years probation after he pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana.
He faced up to six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the unclassified misdemeanor.
The court dismissed one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, also an unclassified misdemeanor. He originally faced up to nine months in jail and up to $1,500 in fines.
Court records indicate he had marijuana in his possession Jan. 5 in Monroe township.
In a second case, the court sentenced Normington to 24 months probation after he pleaded no contest to bail jumping and possession of an illegally obtained prescription drug.
He faced up to 15 months in jail and up to $10,500 in fines as part of the plea agreement.
The court dismissed one count of possession of marijuana, a class F felony, and one count of bail jumping, a class H felony. He originally faced more than 10 years in prison and up to $21,500 in fines.
Court records indicate he had marijuana in his possession March 1 in Brodhead. He was on bond for possession of marijuana at the time of the incident.
The court Monday scheduled a Sept. 30 district attorney conference for Debbie J. Key, 39, Monroe, who faces two counts of disorderly conduct charges.
Court records allege she threw things and yelled and swore at her neighbor July 21 in a Monroe residence.
She is charged with two counts of disorderly conduct, both class B misdemeanors. She faces up to six months in jail and up to $2,000 in fines, if convicted.
She remains free on a $750 signature bond.
