GREEN COUNTY FELONIES
• Travis Ronald Edler, 30, Monroe, pleaded no contest Thursday, Aug. 23, to a misdemeanor charge of knowingly violating a domestic abuse order. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, minus time already served, and fined $243. A Class I felony charge of stalking and a Class B misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct were dismissed against Edler. The charges stem from allegations of domestic abuse over a period starting in 2010.
• Jillian Ann Gowen, 26, jailed in Green County, was sentenced Thursday, Aug. 23, to three years of probation and 120 days in jail on a Class F felony charge of burglary. Misdemeanor charges were "read in" of theft and entry into a locked coin box. Conditions of her probation include completing an abuse assessment for alcohol and other drugs, continuing counseling, not drinking and not entering Piggly Wiggly. Court records indicate Gowen broke into a coin-operated change machine and coin-operated washing machines and clothes dryers in July 2011 at Monroe Speed Wash, 703 22nd Ave., and took $897 in coins and bills.

• Karie L. Sweet, 42, Monroe, pleaded no contest Friday, Aug. 24, to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and bail jumping. She was granted a one-year deferred prosecution with the conditions that she complete an abuse assessment for alcohol and other drugs, follow through with all recommended treatment and counseling and pay $100. Court records indicate she punched a man and hit him with a broomstick during a domestic dispute in February in the 1100 block of 30th Street and that in July she drank alcohol in violation of a bond condition.
LAFAYETTE COUNTY MISDEMEANORS
• Carla Jean Carns, 49, Benton, pleaded no contest Wednesday, Aug. 22, to misdemeanor charges of violating a harassment restraining order, stemming from incidents Feb. 2 and April 8. She was granted a one-year deferred prosecution and fined $243.
• John Edward Dunlavy III, 44, Darlington, pleaded no contest Wednesday, Aug. 22, to a Class A misdemeanor charge of resisting a conservation warden, stemming from an incident Nov. 13, 2011. He was fined $876. His DNR license was suspended/revoked for one year, to begin Jan. 1, 2013.
