• The court Wednesday sentenced Jeremiah D. Pate, 23, Brodhead, to 60 days in jail with work release privileges after he pleaded no contest to possession of marijuana.
He faced up to six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines for the unclassified misdemeanor.
Court records indicate he had about 1 gram of marijuana in his possession Oct. 7 in Sylvester township. He was convicted of bail jumping in 2004.
