Green County
Felonies
Madison Mae Bezik, 27, Monroe, was charged March 26 and 27 in three cases, including two Class I felony counts of possessing narcotic drugs. She also faces misdemeanor charges of theft, possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing an illegally obtained prescription. Police reports filed with the criminal complaints indicate Bezik overdosed on heroin in the bathroom while working in New Glarus on March 3 and "had to be given at least three or four doses of Narcan to bring her back around." She told police she had overdosed and needed Narcan in the past. She was initially open to talking with police about the incident, telling an officer she had "messed up" and "had to own up to what she had done," then missed their appointment and didn't return the officer's calls. On March 18, Bezik overdosed at her parents' Monroe home. She was found pulseless, blue and not breathing on the bathroom floor after injecting heroin into her right hand. Two doses of Narcan revived her. The next day, Bezik's mother reported to police that her daughter had stolen her brand-new HP laptop computer that afternoon and pawned it in Madison for $200. Bezik has signed signature bonds with conditions that she not possess or consume controlled substances or enter pawn shops. Her next court appearance is April 4.
